I want to build my own free float carbon fiber tube/handguard.

Does anyone know of a source selling carbon fiber tubes...for a REASONABLE price?

Most places I've found on the Internet want an arm and a leg $150+ for a 4' or 6' section.  That is an outrageous price for a simple mass produced item.

i've never made cf handguards, but a hwile back i made my own body armor fro mountain biking. I used a bi directional weave cf to set the top porfile of my chest plate anbd spine protection. It wasnt that bad... ill im you in a second with a link to the cf distributor i used. if you can carve a mold out of styrofoam thatg is the same size as the handguards you want...then you can lay the cf and polyresin it to get it to harden. that will probably be alot cheaper than buying premade toobs.
