Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Shortening the barrel - what else do I have to do

I'm thinking about shortening a 16 inch barrel to 14,5.  Is there anything else I have to do, like modifying the gas port?

In my country I have no legal problem doing so.

You shouldn't have to mess with the port at all.

Almost never need to touch the port going from 16" to 14.5".
In fact, most factory barrels are slightly over-gassed, so shortening the barrel can sometimes HELP the function come back where it belongs.
