I have seen a few AR's with a thin foam rubber cheek pad that you put on the stock to "cushion " your cheek. The ones I have seen are peel and stick and are rather thin. I don't want it for my AR but for my sub 2000. The Sub's buffer tube is all metal and really freakin cold in the winter. I thought if I took one of the pads and cut it to fit the tube so that it does not interfere with the charging lever it should keep my face from sticking to the tube in the winter
 . Any one know if where I can find one? I googled around but came up dry.

Go to the Craft section at wal-mart they have stickey backed foam and felt for around 1-2 dollars for a sheet. I think they have black and forest green. Hope it helps Make sure the surfice is clean and dry when you apply it to the stock !

Brownells sells something called Cheek-eez. They have several thicknesses up to 1/4" (part #440-703-140)

How about a sheet of A-Grip from Brooks Tactical. Not only is A-Grip available pre-cut to fit a large number of handguns, but it is also available in sheets that you can "cut to fit" you needs.

The Velcro idea crossed my mind, however I think I 'll try wal-mart first and see what I can find. Thanks for the info.

I found what I was looking of in the crafts section at Wal-Mart, it rund around $0.43 a sheet. Worked great on my sub 2000's buffer tube.

Ya, I'll get some on asap. Other than adding the foam to the sub2000's buffer tube, I used a piece of pic rail from an AR hand guard and added to the side of the fore grip so that I could put on a light.
The Sub 2000's are fun guns, and for the price I don't feel too bad tinkering with it. |
