Am prior service & trying to put together an AR15 similar to the M16A2 rifle that was issued. Noticed that some of the parts vendors had an upgrade to a chromed bolt, does the service rifle have a chromed bolt as issued? TIA.

No.  The chromed bolt adds reliability, though, without changing the looks or function too  much.
