I am going to attach my FH, but I have a few questions....

If you use the Easy Flow Paste Silver Solder in a syringe, do you just apply this stuff to the threads on the barrel, screw the FH on and heat it up to the temp and your done?

If you use the paste flux and solder wire, you apply the paste flux to the threads on the FH and barrel, heat it up, now were do you apply the solder? go trough the inside of the flashider or will it flow between the FH and the crush washer?

Thanks for any help

Heat it to the proper temp, when the solder flows, and apply it to the seam where the flash hider meets the barrel.  Gradually bring the temperature to the front of the flash hider but no further than where the threads are on the barrel.  You need to heat the flash hider and barrel uniformly all the way around.  If you do it right, you will have a single thin line of silver solder in the seam and hidden under the flash hider and no where else.

If you are going to silver solder your FH the pre mixed in the syringe is the cleanest way to go.  Make sure the FH  is clean and the barrel is clean, apply solder to the threads, screw on the FH and apply the heat. If you use the paste flux and the wire method  you must be very carefull that you dont get the solder on the exposed surfaces of the FH and barrel ,if you do it will look like sh#!.  The down side of soldering is you will get some discoloration of the parkerizing which is difficult if not impossible to remove, which means reparkerizing or living with the discoloration. You might want to try the blind pinning method. That only requires a small weld on the bottom of the FH to weld over the pin. The weld area is so small that you wont have any discoloration. clean up the weld , and apply some cold blue and your good to go . hope this info was helpful.   PATRIOT ARMORY 07 FFL
