I need to chase the threads on the front sight of a recently refinished upper.

Can someone tell me what size tap I need?

Thanks!

Take the front sight post to the hardware store. They should be able to help you out. What makes you think you need to chase the threads? I ask because I had a FSB that had glass bead blast media in the sight post threads. I had to flush it out with solvent and re-lube with CLP.

Per Brownells, the threads are 8-36.
