Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Difference in CMT uppers...M4 cut and not???

Can anyone tell me the difference in cuts? I'm looking at a CMT upper and the guys isn't sure which it is. Here's what he said:

"I thought the feed ramps were part of the actual barrel assembly?  When I look at my rifle that has them, it doesnt look like they are part of the rifle, they look like an insert... i could be wrong....but there are no ramps in this upper...its hollowed out."
