I have a problem.

I recently assembled a flat top XM177 style kit with a 10.5" barrel and 5.5" permanent flash hider on a stripped lowed reciever. The build was great, fun, etc. It took about 20 minutes to do. The rifle functions flawlessly.

My problem is that I also purchased a P4X Predator Quad Rail System, Aimpoint, and vertical foregrip at the same time to install on the rifle. The Predator rail system requires me to free float the barrel. Since the flash hider is permanent I cannot remove the front sight assembly. Is my only option to cut off the front sight assembly and then replace it with one of the Yankey Hill two piece gas blocks such as the Specter Gas Block? Are there any known problems these Yankee Hill products?
Thanks,
Charles

I have the Yankee Hill Spectre block on my Bushy carbine and the 2 piece Flip-up front sight base gas block on my SPR. No problems with either one. Butt them up to the barrel step, as they are built with the assumption the front hand guard cap is not there.
