Yankee Hill rifle length railed free float tube - $200

Yankee Hill low profile gas block - $35

Mid-length gas tube - $8

Blue Loctite - $2.50

Experience to know that you used too much loctite - Priceless

How the hell did that happen?  Locktite on your gas tube?  Huh?

Experience to know that you shouldn't use loctite on your gastube... $10.50

I'd be happy. Experience in this hobby is usually much pricier. For future reference, you can typically burn out loctite.

Why did you put loctite on your gas tube?

My question as well, what were you thinking?

I did not loctite the gas tube, but the free float tube to the free float tub's barrel nut, and I had the gas block still in the ff tube (dissy setup), but lose, and it caught the ff tube, and wraped around the barrel whille the ff tube was being (strenously) twisted off the barrel nut. We had a towel over the tube, and did not see the damage till to late.  Good thing is other than scuff mrks, only the gas tube is broke.

Here's your sign.

Lesson learned???

Never use Loctite anywhere on an AR.  It is absolutely unnecessary if the rifle is assembled correctly.
