I am looking at kits from Model 1 sales and I am not sure what I am looking at.

I see a 16" CAR kit and an EM-4 kit.  Aside from a different looking barrell, what is the difference?  Also, I see a 4 position butt that is standard, an aluminum 4 position and a 6 position stock.  Are all 3 the same pull and which do people recommend?

TIA

CAR is a 16" Heavy Barrel, the EM-4 is an M4 profile.

LOP should be the same on the 4 position stocks, the M4 6 position has a longer LOP when fully extended.

Thanks for the reply.

So, is the "M4 profile" simply an aesthetic thing?  I see that some people go for a "look" in their build.

Yes.

If you are looking for weight savings, go with a lightweight barrel.

J&T has it as a no cost option on their 16" kits.

(** Not affiliated with J&T in any way.  I just like the way they have done business with me in the past.)

The M4 proflie allows the attachment of the M-203 grenade launcher.  For the majority of folks, it is just a look.  However there are folks that have 37mm flare launchers that use the same attachment.

I recently ordered a kit from Model 1, I've ordered parts from them before.  They have good customer service, and what I've gotten from them was nice quality.
