A $9.95 torque wrench?? I would pass on that. It may get you in more trouble than just using your own judgement.

Why is that? It is rated at + or - 4% accuracy. Barrelling an AR-15 upper on requires an initial setting of 30#. The accuracy of this torque wrench means that the most it will be off is 1.2# at the 30# setting, and that isn't anything to speak of. I wouldn't recomend using it to rebuild engines or anything critical, but for an AR-15 build it is an excellent deal. Heck, some guys don't even use a torque wrench at all. And I guarantee that these people aren't as precise as the 1.2# mentioned above.

I quess I'm a little critical of cheap tools as most of mine are Snap-On. As to the 4% margin of error, just seems like a lot to ask of $9.95. If I recall, my Snap On is 2% and it was north of $200.00. But your point is taken as to it may be better than none at all to the guy who does'nt twist wrenchs for a living.
