How impotant is the moly grease on the trigger and pins???
Will there be major issues or extreme wear without it it?
I take it that CLP is not an alternative?

How is the stuff that BM sells, suggestions for a better price or product.

I have 3 lowers to assemble with float tubes. Should I use it on the buttstock threads too? Suggestions for other applications and how often to reapply on finished and factory rifles?

Not important at all, it’s just something extra some guys like to do.

I would not worry about wear, CLP will work just fine. I stick with CLP for the internals. If I shoot a lot and the lower receiver is looking pretty bad I’ll flush it out during cleaning with a 50/50 mixture of Turpentine and Hoppes #9. Any grease applied on the pins would be washed away.

Check WalMart, I picked up the grease pictured below for about a $1 if I remember correctly. Enough grease to last a lifetime of AR building.

Lubing the receiver extension tube is not a bad idea either.

New rifles should not need reapplication unless of course, for example, you change out your barrel. As far as other applications, I’ve used a bit of grease on the barrel threads when installing the flash hider. Any where two dissimilar metals are threaded together or simply to aide in disassembly at a later date, a bit of grease on the threads of just about any part is not a bad idea. Used in moderation, it definitely can’t hurt!
