What barrel vise jaws can i use on an M4 for changing a comp? (link)
I have the vise, just not the jaws. Im guessing i just cant use a couple 2x4's on either side?

how hard can you clamp down on a barrel before damage?

I'm assuming you're trying to remove a non-permanantely pinned muzzle device.  You can just use a couple of 2x4's to sandwich it.  It helps if you cut a groove down each to hold the barrel.

yup
not pinned, not soldered,

so i wont damage the barrel bore with a hand operated vise and a couple blocks of wood?

Is it on there really tight? I've always just held the rifle with the buttstock on the floor and twisted the flash suppressor off with a wrench.
