I'm hopeless, i know. Bear with me though:
I already got a Bushy stripped lower. I plan on getting a "kit" to finish it off (most likely a Del-Ton M4-ish setup). The reason for the kit, is to save a little money by getting it all at once. So i will have that lump sum of money next month... in the meantime- I have $150 really burnin a hole in my pocket, and if i dont spend it in the next couple days, i will probably spend it on something "practical" (as my wife would call it). So, what add-ons do i "need" for $150?! Thought about: YHM 4-rail free-float nice set of flip-up BUIS Trigger maybe? Any other suggestions? Seriously, i have to spend this money quick!

How about kicking $20 in for a team membership, then spend the rest on gun parts after you find exactly what you want with a thorough search of the EE.

Do you already have the tools to assemble the rifle? If not, that's where the money should go.

Question for ya (and this is a lame one): I understand i will need a CAR stock wrench, and a roll-pin punch... what other specialty tools do i need? (i will be getting an assembled upper so i wont really need a FF tube wrench, but had thought about the DPMS multi-tool, which does both FF tubes, and CAR stocks) |

To do just the lower, you will need the following:
1/16" pin punch 3/32" pin punch 3/32" roll pin punch 1/8" roll pin punch Flat screwdriver or allen wrench for the pistol grip telestock wrench small hammer |

The practical reply (inasmuch this is still for gun stuff) is ammo and mags. Tools is good, but . . .
If you want a more genuinely "accessory" kind of thing, a good trigger is a vast improvement over a military one. |

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
I couldnt help.... it... i didnt even make it home from work yesterday.... i got de-railed on the way home and picked up a 10/22 to finish another ongoing project. Now THAT was impulsive. Started with a basic 10/22, added a tapered SS barrel, custom-painted Mannlicher stock (flip-flop), peep rear sight with crosshair front. After owning acouple silhouette 10/22s with thumbhole stocks/bull barrels/monster scopes, i need a "lightweight" 10/22 with irons. sorry guys, wish i couldve bought a useless accesory for my upcoming AR. There's always next time though

oh well too late to help you.
I bought an expensive hammer and punch set recently but for all intents and purposes use the center nail punches from Stanley that I got at home depot (for the roll pins), use a thin blade to put in front swivel detent , a screwdriver for the grip screw, and a punch (not sure what size) to put thru the hammer and trigger to hold them lined up for their pin insertion (I have done it without the punch, but its much easier this way) plus a small hammer (although I have used whatever is handy). Oh and instead of using tape to mask off the parts of the receiver for scratches, I use a couple of post it notes. Essayons |

 ha, im terrible i know... just imagine what my wife has to put up with.FWIW- thanks for all the suggestions, the info on the tools is much appreciated, and will be the next thing on the list when i have a spare wad of cash in my pocket. |
