I noticed it lacks the "flat" sides of an A1 or A2 birdcage....sooo what is the proper procedure and tool to install one?

Thanks.

The old GI multi tool had three slots in one end, perfectly designed for the prongs on the original FH.  I don't have a picture of one handy, but that's it.  One end has a barrel wrench (rounded slot with pegs for the barrel nut), sides have rectangular cutouts for flats on receiver extnsion tubes, and the other end has the three-prong slots.

Or use an old butcher knife stuck in the prongs.

Or just wrap a rag around it and hand tighten the damn thing!  There is a REASON for the lock washer...

Fulton Armory used to carry the old GI barrel wrench that had the holes for the 3-prong suppressor.

here's an old pic from their website.
