is there a quality issue on wilson barrels? i thought wilson made some of the best ar15s around. doeesnt rra use their barrel? how do they compare to bushmaster? is there any real quality difference or is it just preference.

Wilson barrel blanks are fine. It's what happens to the blanks that is the problem.

Companies like ASA are notorious for screwing up the chamber and gas port when they cut and drill them.

Companies like RRA use Wilson blanks without problems.

Wilson Combat does not make the Wilson SS barrels RRA and others use.

If I recall correctly, DPMS uses these blanks as well.

i have a wilson stainless 1/8 from someone that seems great, the throat is a little long.....

Bushmaster uses 4150 steel whie Wilson uses 4140 steel.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that Wilson Arms barrels are crap-at least that's the impression I got from your post.  They actually have a good reputation, and I'm happy with my RRA rifle with its Wilson barrel.

no i dont think they are crap, i phrased that a little wrong, i was just wondering with them being so inexpensive, how the quality is compared to other manufs.

Mine shoots sub-moa at 100 yards. It isn't chrome lined. I like it,
