Has anyone cut and recrowned a non chromelined 20" at home successfully (I'm sure lots have here)?  What equipment is needed?

And how much can you cut off without having to make modifications to the gas port?  Can you cut to 18"? 17.5"?

I doubt a lot of people here have a lathe at home.... or have experience re-crowning a muzzle.
