Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Anyone ever modify front takedown pin?

Just bought a Colt Sporter Modle 6530. The front takedown pin is interanlly thraeded and is retained with a screw. The Outside Dia of the front and rear pins look to be the same. I have not measured the pin OD yet.

Is it possible to modify the front pin for the ease of dissassembly? It seems I've read on this subject previously.
