I'm in the process of building a dissipator, and plan to use a rail-mounted Troy flip-up sight for my back-up front sight.

What would you guys recommend doing about the two holes left in the barrel from the FSB pins?

I suppose another option would be to use a PRI sight instead, and attach it such that it covers these holes......

Are you talking about the forward FSB or the chopped gas block under the tube?

If its the front sight that's not functioning as the gas block, I suppose you can just JB weld them and paint it over when it is dry.

If its the chopped gas block...you just might want to leave that one on

Use the JB weld quick set epoxy. Sets in like 5 minutes and its black, not grey. Then sand and paint with Brownells Aluma-hye II . i would paint the whole barrel or at least up untill it goes under the HG....
