My barrel is 20",  the distance from the barrel nut to the front site base is 11 1/2".
What size hand guards do I need to look at?  Remember I am new at this.

I have seen different sizes offered. How do I know which one is which?
Standard?
Mid-length?
Carbine?
M4?
..............what do these mean?hinking.gif

Standard? ---> everyday rifle length as found on 20" barrel

Mid-length? ---> New to me, some funny stuff somebody come up to deviate from the norm.

Carbine? ---> CAR/short/ as found on the 10.5/11.5/16" barrels

M4? ---> Pregnant version of the Carbine handguard

..............what do these mean?

Typically the length handguard you are reffering to for a 20" upper are called "rifle length".
