Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - what does a stripped reciever get registered as?

Does anyone know if it is classified as a pistol, rifle or reciever.

If you sell the reciever as an assembled rifle does its designation change.

Recievers are sold just as recievers, that is why the have the ser. # you wont find a barrel with a ser# on it well maby military  but you know what i mean i  list the stripped lowers/ receivers  on the 4473 (yellow )  as parts stripped reciever  no caliber  ATF never said anything in over 12  years
