I recall reading somewhere that you should grease or lube the threads on the barrel before threading it on the receiver. Anyone do this?

You'd want to put some moly grease on the threads of the receiver. Clean the threads of previous gunk before doing so.

Ditto, although if I recall on the bushmaster build-it-yourself video the guy used motor oil.  I use moly grease.  It's cheap and a tube will last years.
