In trying to test fit parts for a new upper build, I can not get the gas tube to go into the front sight base.

How tight is this fit suposed to be?

or is it suppose to slide in?

Thanks,

Badredfish

Sometimes they are a little snug.... it helps to lightly chamfer the leading edges on some sandpaper, then lube with a little CLP... and wiggle while you insert it into the FSB.

As I was typing that.... I even changed the wording to make it LESS open for that kind of stuff.... and after I hit the submit... I just knew someone was gonna jump all over it.
