I read about 9mm AR's. Is it possible to find the components to assemble a .40 S&W AR? Has anyone here done it?

Sure. Oly makes an AR in 40 S&W. You can buy the complete rifle or just the upper.  Oly also makes them in 45 ACP and 10mm.  Drop down into the pistol cal forum and take a look around. A lot of guys go with the 9 because the ammo is cheap. Heck I have 2 9mm ARs. My next pistol cal AR will be a 10mm.
