Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - I'd like to make a M4 type clone, I'd like some opinions

I've got a Bushie lower, and I've thought about buying either a Model 1 or J&T upper so I can switch back between it and my Bushie upper.  Will they match up OK?  And, how's the quality in comparison?  Is that a good idea?  I'd like to save some money if I can, but don't want to buy something I'd regret.

They should match up fine.  Go with the chrome lined barrel option.  Get the flattop.  I hear slightly better things about J&T than Model 1, but have no firsthand knowledge of either.

I have a model 1 m4 kit on my Bushmaster lower and the match is great,I went with the chrome lining  ,flat top, and chrome carrier. The total cost was around $550 for everything but the lower.
