Overall, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. A set of punches, a screwdriver and a little ingenuity to figure out a few tricky springs and stuff was all that was needed (and some very helpful ARFCOM docs and pictures). Took it to the range a couple of times so far to break it in, functioned flawlessly, shot very nicely :)

Specs:
Ameetec A3 upper
BM bolt and carrier
BM 16" superlight bbl (chrome lined, 1:9 twist)
KAC RAS II
Surefire M952XM
forward handgrip (tango down grip next on the list as well as some more panels)
BM? flashhider (Phantom 5 port is in the mail)

Ameetec Lower
BM trigger
First Samco Handgrip (though I don't like this so much - too hard and slippery for my taste)
RRA telescoping stock.
LMT fixed rear BUIS
Aimpoint M2 is on the wanted list too

I was going to get a Mega lower from Ameetec, but maybe I'll get one of their own. It'd be pretty cool to have an AR that says Mesa, AZ since that's were I live.

yeah, Im really happy with them. they were super cheap a few months ago... dunno if they are still running their special. Got a sweet group deal on the FFL transfer too :)

nice choice on the G27. I am growing fond of it as well.

Did that come with the parts kit or was it a special order? I notice you have an A1 FS, so my guess is you chose the pieces yourself.

Are you thinking about optics?

I've just put a few rounds through it, haven't tried for group sizes yet. Maybe this afternoon if anyone wants to hit Deerfield.

That was seperate from the parts kit.

I am CONSTANTLY thinking about optics. I am also thinking about how much blood I will lose after I tell my fiance I spent another $100 on an Aimpoint M2.

Plus I'm considering taking that CQC carbine class, and that runs about the same as an Aimpoint.

Who knows, maybe I'll just do both :)

Uhhhh, dude, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but an Aimpoint M2 is around $350 plus another $100-150 for a highend mount.

Based on that, I reckon you'll be losing a lot of blood during/after that discussion.

Who knows, maybe I'll just do both :)

Oooooh, now I see. Yeah, you're gonna be getting one of those $100 Aimpoint M2's, I gotcha!

I shouldnt need a riser either, because of the hump on the RAS II, right?

The riser for an ARMS#22M68 is only about $10-15. The mount itself is something like $100-120. (Sorry I can't recall the exact prices right now.)

Also look at the LaRue mounts. They make both a high and low mount (the low is what you'd want).

LOL.. will do.. I think it's going to have to wait a bit though. I just got off the phone with Milt Sparks, a tuckable IWB holster for my USP was needed before the Aimpoint. Hopefully next month after I get a few paychecks in I can splurge.
