Guidance for a newbie AR user (from a handgun guy).

Can anyone describe or point me to information on how to check a newly purchased Model 1 upper for barrel/fsb alignment?  Is this just a matter of putting it together and sighting it in for elevation and windage, or are there bench procedures?

Hey you rifle guys can’t be having ALL the fun on Sept 14!! h.gif

Not an expert but I can tell you the standard fsb is aligned with two dowels or pins that go through the bottom the fsb and through two machined holes or recesses in your barrel. The barrel is aligned to the receiver by a small lug(not correct term) near the chamber and fits into a small square slot on the upper receiver. IF that slot in your receiver is worn out from inproper barrel removal or just poor fit your front sight will be out of alignment to your receiver slightly.

Hope that helps
