It is a 16" HBAR with a compensator from Model 1. I was thinking about have the comp removed, threaded, and an A2 put on. Also I was thinking about some sort of composite FF tube (w/ rail system?) and either a low profile flip up sight to replace the gas block with or a gas block with a weaver rail. Any suggestions on what FF tube to get or what gas block to use would be greatly appreciated.

I would just build a second upper, with the items you mentioned such as a FF tube and rail type gas block. Then later on, get a second lower and... wala... 2 AR's.

I do plan on getting several other uppers and I have lowers that I am building right now. Problems is I will have this extra post ban upper- and you know the rule about how too many uppers means you don't have enough lowers. Soooo- I was just planning ahead- an upper with no lower is a waste.

How about getting together a collection of post-ban uppers, neutered klinton pistol mags, gun locks and brady bunch pamphlets and sending the whole big bag of crap to diane feinstein. Send it COD too or something so she picks up the shipping cost for a 300 lb crate of post-ban AR parts. Hmm,

I, as an inmate of the Peoples Repulbik of Californiastan, fully endorse this plan. Ahh well, a FAB 10 isn't that bad I guess. The beautiful part is, that since it is not an "assault rifle", it can have all the evil features I want. |

If anyone wants to un-ass a postban upper with a 1:12 barrel on it, lemme know. I'm interested in building a dedicated upper for an M261. (My kid has pretty much hijacked my DPMS .22!)
