When intalling the flash hider, does it make any difference which way the peel (crush) washer is placed on the barrel ?  Any help with this will be appreciated.

Thanks, Shootist

No not really, I like to put the sharp edge (peel washer) toward the hider. It will save you some cuts down the road.

The crush washer is not the same thing as the peel washer, which do you have?

Thanks for the reply.  I am not sure what type of washer I have, but I belive it is a crush washer.  It is a solid washer that has the center offset from the outer edge of the washer.  It is not configured like a standard lock washer used in automotive repair, it is solid and not split.

Sounds like you have the new crush washer, the center is concaved. Install the inside high center toward your rifle.  Hope this helps.

I've got the same washer.  How tight do I need to get the FS?  This is with an A2 FS.

I dont know what the manual says but I tighten it to the point were it will not come off by itself.  I think its like 15lbs or something. Just make sure it will not unscrew and you will be fine.

Try not to over tighten as once you "crush" the crush washer, it won't spring back into it's original shape if I'm not mistaken.
