By "grade 3", are you referring to the 80% forged lowers previously sold by Shade Tree???

If so, they are still available, ~same price, from    [email protected] (He also sells these on eBay).

Yes - "mr3rdman" sells the [former] Shade Tree forgings on ebay...There's two auctions going on now -

Note that the "Buy It Now" price is the same as Shade Tree last listed on their site...

"mr3rdman" also sells them off-eBay, as noted in above response...("mr3rdman" is [email protected])...

Also - I have a les baer "80%" lower, and it is more like 20%...*Lots* of fire-control cavity machining to do...(all of it, in fact)...

There I made the link hot.  Also want to add I have seen the 80% lowers worked on in the KT Ordnance workshop and out of all the other lowers around, they are far the best.  Unfortunantly the man running the shop is having property problems with his town so the 1911's and AR15s on the site are ready, but theres a wait for the AR10's

SSW..

If you are referring to Grade #3 that were sold by  the Tannery Shop, then they are the only one who sold them AFAIK. They typically had deformations, large bubbles and airpockets from casting and were sold cheap. Typically they would get a batch of castings and would sort them according to quality from Grade 1 to 3. The Grade #1 were the ones they sold for $75 or so, with Grade #2 and #3 being cheaper, but requiring more work to complete to overcome the defects.

They weren't something that was always in stock, but availability depended on the quality of the latest casting run. Since William is currently deployed and NOC is selling the lowers in his absence, you'd have to contact NOC to see if they are grading and selling the lowers in the same manner that William was.

I am interested in building an 80% lower....My question is where can I find detailed schematics for a AR15/M16 so that I am sure to make all finising mill work completely....?
