Does a 9mm conversion require a different bolt and carrier? Thanks for any help.

yes and no. It comes as a one piece bolt assembly.

I'm new here, but willing to help where I can. On the 9mm AR conversion you will also need to change the lower receiver's "hammer" if it is a semi-auto rifle. You can get a 9mm hammer at places like DPMS or Rock River Arms. They are usually around $15.00, hope this helps.

There are 2 common 9mm conversions, Colt style and Olympic style; none of the conversion parts are interchangeable between the two.  The semi 9mm hammer need will depend on which style and which type of Colt bolt/carrier also.
