In planning for my first build, I had wanted to find an A1 style upper with a LW barrel.  Another member graciously pointed me in the direction of CDNN. They have new 20' SP1 uppers w/tri-handguards and seem to be a good deal other than having to modify for post-ban compliance at $399.
1)Can anyone tell me if these would be large hole uppers?
2)Are these likely to be old 1/7 barrels?

If it's a real Colt SP1 upper, it will have a large diameter pivot hole and a 1:12" twist barrel.

BTW, the A1 has always been my favorite. [^]

Here's mine. [white](If the photo server is working.)[/white]

The CDNN pieces are small hole, M16A1 type units. As are the bolt/carrier assemblies thry're selling. Therefor, they'll match up with any current production lower just fine.  They are, however, 1 in 12 twist; not 1 in 7.

BTW, I fully agree that this is a good way to go, if you want an A1 type piece.[:D]
