Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Newby question: 80% lower better forged or cast?

Hello guys,
I'm planning to built my own AR and I've the possibility to finish-up the lower, shall I go for forged or cast?, and what about the cavarms polymer lower? a friend has one for sale.

Hey I would go for forged recierver first. They a stronger and will last. The cast recievers are not as strong as the forged. I would get the fiber resin before I would purchase a cast reciever.

All I had to see was one picture of the results of a pre-ignited round to convince me to buy a forged reciever.

But I decided to go for a complete used Colt lower and start from there.
