Has anyone asked the ATF to define, specifically, what is a collapsable stock?

FWIW, There are 42 topics on "collapsable stock" questions in the last 6 months, onsite, which will pop-up when ya type, "collapsable stock" into the Search.

Thanks, Mike.  I did just that and found several discussions.  However, none of them (that I could find) had anything specific on the ATF definition.  I was hoping someone had some correspondence from them (the ATF) giving the specific definition.

I should add that the term "collapsable" is what I believe is at issue here.  For example, if a stock length may be adjusted without tools it would seem to me that it is clearly "collapsable."  But what if tools/gunsmithing are required to change the length?  Is this still (officially) considered collapsable?

I don't think so.....

Look at all the adjustable for length of pull competition/target stocks there are.  There has to be something else to it...

Maybe how much adjustment is available/possible?
