I recently bought a rubber butt plate to replace the hard plastic one on my .458 Socom set-up. The factory buttplate was actually cutting a grip pattern in my skin after about 25 rounds.
So, when I went to install the rubber replacement, the top screw was too short to engage the threads in the back of the buffer tube. I dug around and found a longer screw from some other AR project lying on the floor. I tried it and it is long enough, but the head is too small and it wants to pull through the rubber buttplate.
Are there replacement screws available to solve this problem (long, big head) ?
