I going to build my own AR-15 bbl from a 1.25" dia barrel blank.  I am fairly good with a lathe and have access to a good one at work, so I'm not a complete novice.

Do any of the AR-15 books list the port location, and how to install the barrel extension?  I know generally how they go together, but I'm looking for the little tricks and details to make it a little easier for the first timer.
