Decided and placed my order for the first part on 5/8.  Deciding on the other parts, ordering the tools I wanted, the parts kit, back order of item and all that jazz... I finally sat down and put it together 6/22.

Century Arms reciever - $88 (shipped)
J&T 16" kit w/flat top and A3 Handle & A2 stock bought through the group buy - $505.95
FFL fee - $15

Total - $608.95

1 1/2 hours from start to finish (first one).  I took my time, and didn't have anything fly away.  The holes in the reciever were all very clean (no need for drill bit) and nothing was hard to get in (other than stuff listed below that was my fault)

I was going to kind of document the process with photos, but I got so into it I forgot to take many.

Problem areas (all related to getting too excited about putting it together and not looking at diagrams)

1)fitting of trigger assy pin took awhile (had the trigger spring on the wrong way) (also put the hammer spring on with the arms on the wrong side...bah!)

2) Put takedown pin in from wrong side (noticed after I had put the stock on and everything)

3)I bought the roll-pin holder set, so I didn't put any tape on the reciever when putting in the bolt catch roll pin because I thought "it's easy with these holders"...yep....got a little tiny nick on the receiver

Ah well...I'm happy to put this thing together.

I've never put pics on a site so that I could put them in the thread...what's a good one to use?

very simple and free,  be sure to purge your pics every 30 days.

Village photo http://www.villagephotos.com/has a free option, with limited bandwidth, and a limit of 20 pics, but you don't have to purge your pics...you can leave 'em up for as long as you want.  The bandwidth limit will effect how many times a day they can be viewed, though.

Added some tape after I marked it up to help keep from marking it up further [BD]

No comments on my pink striped sheet either!  I've had it since I was a kid.  [:D]

My next project us giong to be a flat-top. What did you have to give for the carry handle??

The carry handle was $65 from J&T (added it onto my kit).  I didn't shop around, I just kind of decided at the last minute to go ahead and add it on, so I don't know if you could get one cheaper than that.

A3 carry handle should be all the way forward..unless that's the way you like it.

Thanks.  That's how it was on there when I opened the kit and I didn't even notice it was "off" a little.

Will fix that right now.
