Hi guys looking at getting my first lower and building from scratch. I noticed several members from TN and was wondering where you guys got yours. Did your local FFL have some or did you have to order it. Any place in the Nashville area would be great. Also some prices would be great. Thanks for any help.

I can't think of any shops in Nashville that would stock a lower, but I am not impressed with the shops in town anyway.  here is a guy in the Nashville Indoor Flea Market on weekends that has good prices, but he is only open on weekends. You might want to check with him. The place is called Jaeger Bros. Firearms.



If you can stand a roadtrip, there is a good shop in Cookeville called Young's Guns. TNRonin can tell you all about Young's. They are good people, but Cookeville is around 80 miles east of Nashville.

One thing I have noticed about TN is that the State Tax Stormtroopers seem to terrorize FFLs from time to time. The local guy I was using finally gave up on doing transfers on used weapons due to the Tx Boys wanting sales tax. When you find yourself a good FFL to work with, make sure he's on your XMas card list.

I have been using a MS FFL recently to get receivers. You can get long gun FFL transfers from states bordering your home state. In MS, there's no instant check fee - it's just a straight $20 and you're out the door. My recent preference is the $89 Oly forged receivers from FAC.

Check out Elite Firearms and supplies in Boaz, Ky.  I was there the other day and they had a bunch of lowers (complete and stripped) and a bunch of assembled guns. They had DPMS, RRA, Cav Arms,Colt,and Oly. Depending where you are it might be worth the drive to take a ride there to check it out. About 10 miles south of Paducah in Rt 45. About 2 hrs from Nashville.
