You have to have an FFL, (a C&R FFL qualifies you for "dealer" pricing).

My Old Man has one. He has his own business making knives. I think he gets the discount because he has to pay some sort of state business tax. Gunsmithing students also get the discount if I remember. It's not just limited to FFL holders.

I receive the discount, they told me, because I own my own business. I'm a dentist, no ffl or c&r. Hope this helps someone.

When I placed my first Phone order they asked me if I have a business. I said I do -not firearms related - and they gave me the discount. They will ask for your FFL and other information. I just gave them strait answers. I saved about 25% on that order.

You need to know the secreat code !
Example: Brownels, lets use the DPMS stainless lower as an example.. # 231-015-101 silver s/s lower 1C169Z95 ( 3lb) $ 299.00. Dealer/ffl etc will pay $ 169.95. You see ? Usually gunsmith stuff is not discounted and there will be 00 in the code... |

The best way to determine if you qaulify for the discount is to set up an account with [url=www.brownells.com]Brownells[/url]. You can do this thru their website. The discount is also available to LEO's. Thats how I got mine. They still allow me to use it even though I'm former LEO. You can save considerably on parts and sometimes save on tools.

You won't see the code on the web site. The pricing there is based upon your user login.
The "secret code" appears in all their catalogs though. |

I called Brownell's today, asked if I could get a discount with a C&R license, was treated very nicely by the lady on the phone, sent my C&R and now get the full discount!
Darn, I wish that this thread had been around a couple years ago, when I first got my C&R, glad I caught it now, Thanks AR15.com!! Rancid Lance |
