Is the Lasermax IR the only IR laser available at the moment that will mount to a pistol with picatinny rail without being too big?  I have a visable green beam by Beamshot model 8300, but I'm not aware of an ir laser diode to dump into it like some folks do with the 1000 model.  So how many layers of 35mm film would it take to place over the bright green laser to make it safe to work with a pvs-14 pinnacle? Anyone filddle with greenbeams&nightvision or is it best to just buy an IR unit like the lasermax or wait on something new to come out for pistols that LDI may offer?

The lasermax is currently the smallest I have seen so far.  Heard LDI may have a class 1 for handguns comming down the line soon....

Lasermax IR seems so appealing for its size and $300 price tag. I may wait to see if LDI comes out with a pistol version, but likely it will be over $500 like their other units. Does Streamlight offer an IR laser unit for commercial sale? Will Crimson Trace eventually offer an IR unit to citizens or will they continue to ignore the market and just deal with gubbermint?

I wish they would make their guide rod in IR.

That would be a sweet set up in my opinion.
