I am in need of upgrading my M900A weaponlight with a turbo head conversion.  I looked for one, but damn, are they expensive.   Best place I found was one that offered a discount, and it was still $156.00.

Anyone upgrade their weapon light with a Cree or the Tac Light upgrade?  If so, where did you get it, and how do they perform?

I just got another AR (Colt 6920) and Mamasan is perturbed at my spending (I had to upgrade the handguards to DD Omegas) so I need to find something decent and less pricey.

You aren't going to get more lumens with the K-T4 turbohead conversion kit vs the standard head on the M900A. You will still get either 125 lumens or 225 lumens, depending on which lamp you use. What the turbohead does for you is focus the beam for a tighter hot spot, giving you better throw.

Unfortunately, you still need that KT-4. And you have to fork out the money for this tower kit and other parts and supplies. And you have to build it yourself.

Another option is to use the MN11 lamp that came with your M900A and drive that lamp with two IMR 123A LiMn rechargeables. You will need to find a dummy 123A to fill the space for the third battery. Two of these IMR batteries should drive the MN11 lamp to around 300+ lumens.
