can we just ge tthe head withotu the tailcap, if so what will otuput be and for how long?

Presently we're only selling them as kits. The tail caps are really an awesome addition as well. If you purchase the kit, you can use the LED on it's own and save the tail cap for a rainy day! Vic |

Look at it this way....You're not buying another flashlight, just a great upgrade! |
Should be going up there today with the shopping cart next week. You can call in any orders to me. Thank you, Vic |
guess its time to give you a call is there any way to change the color of the switch on the side? |
Actually no, it's a low lit luminous switch. |

I hope to see many faces at the Shot Show starting this weekend. We will have the units there!
If you replace the head and the tailcap, whats left? just a shell?
?? |
How low does the low go?
Will they have an option to not have a glow in the dark side switch? Will this ever have an option to work with a SR double buttoned type of tape switch in the future? Is the beam more set up for flood or throw? |
256 lumens, HOLY CRAP!!!
I have the G2 led and its 80 lumens, I think. I cant imagine what 256 looks like. Is that using regular 123 battery's? |
Yeppers! |
I wish someone would come out with a similar conversion for the Surefire M900A
PursuitSS |
Only upgrades offered are in the models listed at this time. The kits are doing VERY well at the Shot Show. Thanks guys!

256 lumens at the emitter is roughly 166 torch lumens (out the front). Generally you multiply by 0.65 to convert from emitter to torch lumens, so as to account for losses in the reflector and lens. Plastic lenses and OP reflectors causes more of a loss. I have a Tiablo A8S (Q2 emitter IIRC) which puts out 210 emitter lumens on a 18650 cell for 2 hours. It's nice, but my 6P + Detonator extension with a Lumens Factory HO-9 and driven by 2 x AW 17500 cells puts out 320 lumens at the emitter and ~208 out the front and blows away just about any single Q5 Cree light on the market. Color rendition is outstanding, but runtime is only 40 min. LEDs have great runtime, and with each revision it gets better. Someday the color redition will match incans. |

I bet you belong to the Candlepower forum don't you Thanks for the info |

Yes, but I've been here longer than over there. I'm running various lights with P4 thru Q2 bin Crees, but I'm waiting for the R4 Crees or maybe the SSC P7s before I do my next round of upgrades. |
What's the voltage on the bulb? I'd like to be able to run rechargeable RCR-123's.
ETA: Nevermind, I just saw the specs. Looks good. |
LOT's of up close and personal looks at the Shot Show of these units.
A already have a 952xm07 and just want a 200+ lumen bulb... Can I get one from you or who sells them?
Thanks- can you recommend someone that does? |
I think for the few extra bones to buy this as a kit is well worth to have the tail cap for a rainy day!
Vic |
I've been asked by a few how easy it is to manipulate the strobe with gloves? It's VERY easy with the cut out tail cap that allows a quick and easy dual press of the side switch and tail cap. At the Shot Show, I had my LAPD neighbors stop by and they were VERY happy with the results!

Any issues with heat in the G2, like melting or discoloring the lens after prolonged/constant use? Like mine so far.
So did you have yours on for 2 hours steady? It can get awful hot like any other high output lamp. No one that I know ever uses their lights for 2 hours steady at full power and/or reported problems thus far? No plastic light, including the original SF light let alone a higher output conversion is designed for maximum output sustained constant use, nor do I foresee any possible reason to use it as such. I emailed AND IM'd you for further facts on this. Thanks |
I got an email from Victor regarding this post. I was not making a complaint but an inquiry. The second, short sentence was not to mean that I have had a melting issue but that I LIKE mine so far. As in LIKE. Sorry for any misunderstanding. I have no complaints. I have thought about all the past talk of LED being hotter and wanted to know if it would be necessary to replace the head with a metal one. Sorry Vic, no foul intended. |
Roger that, I ALWAYS want to be sure my customers get immediate attention on ANY problems they might encounter. Thanks Mike! |

I can vouch for that. Victor is a good guy to do business with.

Any chance of LED upgrades coming to dedicated weapon platforms like the 500A?
I will probably get the LED upgrade for my G2. But what REALLY interests me is something for my 500A to give me more run time, especially in the 250ish lumen range. Would be very nice to have the options to switch out heads between the two. |
I bought a defender from Victor at ShotShow with the TLS LED head on it and the standard tailcap.
It is incredible. It has replaced my Lumimax in my poket and is the brightest pocketlight I have seen. If I can get a tailcap and anotherlamp unit for a G2, I will order one of those ASAP. |
Unless I am reading it wrong, you know we make a the kits for a G2 as well. You just have to buy both the lamp and the new tailcap as a kit. The new lamp WILL run with the standard issue tail cap as well and you can save the new tail cap for a rainy day! |
Thought I would post this recent feedback. Thanks and thus far the units are selling VERY well, and lot's of happy light folks out there!
Nope . . . I didn't know you were making kits for the G2. I sent an email on Friday. |
Would be happy to split the cost of a kit with someone since I'm looking only for a tailcap like that. 5 mode though, not infinite. Anyone? |
We have been going through a great many 5-step revers models. I find that this is the best "muscle memory" functionality of the tail cap. Pressing on the tail cap's back button in the reverse model goes to full 256 lumens!
