I was looking at using a Tl2 or 3 as a weapon light because from what I understand they are brighter then the surefire lights that are comparable in size and still have the same run time.  I know that there is the thunder ranch kit but I would like some more input about reliability, mounting and whether others would use it.  If there are any other options please let me know. Thank You

The "211 lumen" TL-3(left side, top two) is about the same brightness as a "105 lumen" Surefire P90 lamp.  That said, the Streamlights are a little smaller/lighter, but their mount is heavy and bulky, negating any practical advantage they MIGHT have.

The lightest/brightest light available is the WG9D light body from G&R Tactical, fitted with a Z32 shock reducing bezel and P91 lamp(shown on the right, in center).  Anything brighter will be heavier and larger.  An excellent alternative is the Streamlight TLR-1(bottom left), LaPoliceGear.com has them for about $90 right now.
