I just bought a used M3 Millenium from a guy on Ebay. It's very nice. I only have the 125 Lument bulb but will be ordering an MN11 for 225 very soon.
The tailcaps are the standard twist on or momentary push button- not clickie but they can be upgraded for $31 through Calvin. The head is shockproof and it was interesting to see how SF does this. They go for $252 new and I got mine for $157. Looks new but has older bezel. It's a lot like all of the other Millenium and M3 lights but has the narrow portion for the rubber grip thingy... A 1" flashlight mount fits perfectly. |

The only difference in the "long gun" model is a backplate designed for a tape switch instead of the rocker backplate on the "pistol" models. The light is the same.

hmmm- you have been able to get corded pressure switch back plates for the M3s for a long time though...
Is it that the long gun version comes standard with it? |

Not to HiJack but I'm still confused on the real diff between the M-3 & M3X . I know it says milspec. But really....
I have the M-3 Now the 3x is approved for duty use. The 3 & 3 X won't use the same safariland holster with Glock 22. I also have been using a M3 on my shotgun. N LIGHT n me please. |

M3X has a higher output bulb, more lumens. 125 instead of 80.

How good is the light quality? Is the 125 lumens coming from M3x going to be close to the 125 lumens coming from my Surefire M900a? |

That will depend on the way the lense is shaped. It should be similar to the M900A or a little broader and less focused if the reflector is smaller. The M900AB has a larger head which focuses the beam tighter. Basically 125 Lumens is 125 Lumens but it will probably matter in how it is focused and thrown forward. I think Lumens can be looked at like a measurement of volume, but don't quote me. |
