At first I thought this was a straight no brainer plan, but now when I look at the different models I have no idea which way to go. At first I thought get a Surefire no biggie but then I see the different models??? Than I read about Pentagon. Now what I'm wondering is which should I go with? Pentagon than which model? Surefire than again which model? Thans there is the issue with mounts? Which mount? I already have rails so thats no big deal but which setup? I used to like the 900 Surefire but what if it gets broken? Than I loose the forgrip and the light.

Howdy Mike, First ID your needs (CQB/Varmint/ETC), then ID how much you want to pay. I personally like the SF Scout type lights (just not with the LED head that comes with them). They are light weight and small. I also run the M96 series with a Charlie tailcap. For Pentagon, I like the MS series a lot (good value). C4 www.GRTactical.com |

Whats the difference between the MS3F and the MS3R? They look like what I'm after. Basically I want a light that is at home on my QCB night rifle or can go over to my regular carbine. I'm also looking for a coupla of good lights to replace my older Surefires and Maglites in my SHTF/disaster bags. Thanks Mike |

Basically, one puts the light farther forward on the rail. The MS3 is a good choice. If you didn't want to go that expensize, the X3-HA in a DD or LT offset mount is a good choice as well. C4 |
