i am ready to add a light to the front of my ar. i would like the pressure switch to be on the handguard. can some one give me a suggestion as to which one or is there a more modern way to mount and operate a light.

To secure the tapeswitch you might want to use a tapeswitch retaining band like shown below -

Mountain Bike Inner Tubes work very well as "Zip Bads" to secure things like Remote Switch cords etc.
