Hey all

I'm thinking of picking up a Streamlight M6 for possible double duty use on my AR15 and my HK p2000. as far as the M6 goes, i was planning on using it on the bottom rail of a gas block with a bottom rail. Do i need a special attachment/adapter or what? if so, what part do I need to order.

Since a Surefire is too expensive right now this will work

I use an adapter that is made by GG&G.  I don't know about attaching it to the gas block though, I am interested in finding out about a way to use my GG&G mount without having to drill holes in my hand-gaurds.  I have it mounted to the handguards on one AR, but I just got a Colt LE 6920 and I don't want to permanently alter the handgaurds.   Anyway, the GG%G mount works great and I love the M-6 for my ARs.  It works great, is very ergonomic, is not bulky or gawdy and can be removed for use on other weapons easily.  I use it on my glocks as well.  


The only thing to look out for, make sure that you get a mount that is made for the streamlight.  I have heard of people trying to mount in directly on forearm rails and other mounts that weren't designed for it and it stretches out the mounts on the light so it won't fit your pistols or anything anymore.


Any ideas on how to mount the streamlight without permanently altering/damaging anything?  I don't want forearm rails or anything either.  I like my weapons stock (for the most part )

my M6 hasn't had any fitment issues when going from AR, glock or xd. Still plenty tight after 9 months

I see a GG&G picatinny riser mount for the M3 which i am assuming uses the same mounting setup as the M6, and just doesnt have the laser attachment. and thats probably what im looking for....  I dont see where mounting it to the gasblock rail should be any different considering it should be the same spec as a rail on a forearm.

I just bought a simi-cheap rail and screwed to the bottom of handguard. I did not have to alter or drill the handguard at all. Bingo...Insite Technology Lite and an ARMS vertical foregrip. The light works plenty good and is easy to manipulate with my thumb. I switch the lite from the AR to the Glock 34 when needed. For home use I don't really see me up lighting.
