The Daniel Defense thing is actually a turn signal for your rifle!  not a tac light mount!

Yep, it's plastic.

I have one of those. Mounted as pictured above, its so close to the rail you can't get a cover on the six-o-clock rail. It also limits the movement of your VFG.

Three set screws to secure the light in the ring, they will leave marks on the light if you care, then two big screws that hold the two pieces of the mount onto the rail.

What about the Larue mount?

But the DD mount seems to push the light pretty fsr away from the gun. anything like that?

Exactly. I sold mine the next day after I received it.

I think GG&G is pretty good.

What about the Larue mount?

The only mount they make that I am familiar with requires existing mount screws. The Gladius has no screws to mount the LaRue mount. At Shotshow this year, either Ken Good or Mark Larue said they were working together to make a mount for the Gladius. But I havent seen anything yet.

I asked specifically about the Larue offset 1" ring mount for the Gladius in a thread about 4-6 weeks ago.  There were pics of the mount there, do a search.  I will try to find it....

OK  Cant find the thread as I did not start it.  However there were pics of the 1" Larue offset QD mount I saw as it was what I specifically wanted for a Gladius.  It exists I assure you.

Prototype pics, still wish it was narrower.  Perhaps production version will be.  Of course you could mount it under the rail to get it more snug but lower... moving from the 4 o'clock position to 5 o'clock or flip it to have it at 7 or 8 on the other side.

Just from the pics I think the Larue is closer to the side than the DD.  However I am just starting out with the whole offset light mount thing so I am pretty inexperienced.  Whatever you go with please post full details and pics.  Im going to wait for the new HA Gladius to be released and purchase one then along with a mount.  You convinced me to get my M900 way back when and now the Gladius with offset mount seems to be the ticket for my SBR.

Just a thought, but I ditched my Yankee hill offset mount after I changed the way I hold on to my VFG. I use to "Choke the Chicken" hold which would place my thumb at the 4 O'clock position. This required the need for the offset mount.

I have since gone with the "Thumbs forward" hold on my VFG. this gives me good control and eliminates the need for an offset mount. So I can mount my light  along side the 9 O'clock rail. it stays close to the rail and does not stick out as far, giving a more cleaner profile, thus keep from snaggin on stuff.  Just something you might want to try.

Here are a couple pics of my Pentagon X2-HA in a Viking Tactical mount.

It's THE lowest light mount i've tried. The only drawback is it isn't quick release.

It's good quality mount and i'm NOT a fan of pressure switches.

I’m using the YHM angle with a standard 1” Weaver ring. Puts my G2 exactly where I need it!

This mount will be for new-argirls M4. We have discussed the way each of us hold the forward grip. The both of us hold the vert grip sort of like a "thumbs up" fonzie kind of way . She is a leftie and the light will likely go on the 3 o'clock rail because of this. But something lower and closer to the grip would be much better for her because of her smaller fingers.

Her and the gun it will go on. We already have the green gladius.

Me doing the fonzie grip. For the longest time I didnt even know this was the way I did it until someone pointed it out.

Even with my light mounted at 3, I still sometimes find myself using the “Fonz hold”. But I think new-argirl might be happy with a YHM mount especially if she has small hands, small hands was my problem when coming up with a mount after I dumped the pressure switch.

Yes, I was just going to mention the Vltor mount.  I am considering one of these.

I am VERY pleased that New-arguy got the Gladius light mounted successfully on my M4. I really like it a lot.

We ended up using the VLTOR SM-G.  The light is located in comfortable and accessible place.  The Yankee Hill angled mount didn't work for me....it put the light out too far for my thumb to reach.  It wasn't much better than the Daniels Defense mount discussed earlier in this thread.

New-arguy had to put a little bit of electrical tape inside the ring to make for a tighter fit.  Between the tape and the way the tail cap fins touch the back ring it seems very secure.
