Your absolutely right, when I think of the BLAST I am thinking pistol. Like I mentioned, I only have any experience with them on handguns. But on a rifle, I would imagine it is somewhat smaller and lighter than if you had seperate light and laser units. Possibly a little boxy, but considerably lighter. I have seen one or two of their thumb screw mounts break under handgun recoil, but the one you had pictured at the link had an ARMS mount, so I think that would be a better option. If you did not want to pay extra for the ARMS mount, I know they make a allen screw mount that can go in place of the thumb screw. It wont be nearly as detatchable, but it is supposed to be more durable. The ARMS mount is probably the most secure while still being QD. It will, however, be the most expensive.
