I saw some pics of the new MX tailcaps surefire just released but they will not sell them as a part for upgrading my exsisting light. I like the dual option it gives and I am looking to see if maybe anyone has just the tailcap. I already have a tape switch that will fit. Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

Grant at G and R Tactical has them and is excellent to deal with.

How can you have the cable without the TailCap?

Do you have the UM TailCap then?

The Cable connector is quite specific:

Do these work with the classic series 1" housings as well or do you have to have the new millenium lights?  I keep wearing tape switches out because the cord to the light keeps breaking wires.

Send them back. We run a large number of "Classic" weapon lights, and send back a few tape switches a year. They have always replaced the, and lately, we have been getting a significantly strengthened version that works much better and doesn't look like it will wear out as quickly.

Yes. The M1 uses a standard LockOut TailCap and they are interchangeable with the XMxx.

It will work with a Classic Tac' light or basically any std. size Surefire body.  Here's a couple of pics of the XM t/c on non-Millennium setups -
